1. LASER CAMP

Hi Councillors. You guys had did a great job for LASER CAMP. We would like to thank each and every one of you for a good job well done over the 2 days training programme. We had received good comments from the teachers for our hard work and they were impressed with the level of commitment and maturity displayed by all of you. Congratulations once again for flying the school flag high.

Laser represents Learning About Self/Social Awareness, Environmental Awareness and Reaching Out to the Community.This theme has been chosen in alignment with the opportunities and challenges faced by our students in the near future. Similar to a laser that produces a powerful beam of light that can be used as a tool for many functions, we believe in nurturing every child to be a leader who will impact others in their lives through their actions.

Please take ample rest to gear up for the 2 day 1 night camp. All the best councillors, and shall we ignite and propel towards the lighthouse of success!

FOREWORD: The 6th Batch is almost completing its journey, but the legacy of Hua Yi Student Council will reign forever.

Kudos to each and every student leader for your exemplary attitude during the Leadership Camp! :D Although the camp may not be as engaging as the one we had in NACLI for two consecutive years, but we had nevertheless kept a positive spirit throughout the three arduous days of the camp, enduring the merciless afternoon heat and keeping focus during lectures after that.

We hope you have enjoyed yourself in the camp and, let's thank each other and the trainers for making this camp worthwhile! Also, we hope that this camp has helped our sec 3s to step up and our sec 2s to be welcomed into our family. Do keep in mind the words that we,seniors have left for you'all during the campfire :)

and you'all know what? : we may lose everything else, but we will NEVER lose our spirits!

It had been a good job done for the Prom Night! (: The Prom Night Committee and The Executive Committee appreciate your commitment and effort put into the prom night.

Our next major project would be the secondary 1 orientation camp. It would be on the 28th, 29th and 30th December, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. So please contribute and attend the pre-training camps which we would inform you people soon.

Hey Huayians! (:

Teachers' Day is round the corner. Let's do a little something for our teacher as a form of appreciation for their hard work.

Being a teacher is not an easy job. Just imagine having to teach a class of say for example 40 naughty students haha. Ever felt guilty of it?

They not only have to monitor your academics but also consider your welfare.

Do you know how worried they can be when you don't complete your assignments on time? They actually will feel stressed up and worried as they are unsure if you really understand the lesson topic. They would think of ideas on how to engage you and make the lesson more easily understandable.

Do you know how hurt they will feel if you show disrespect to them? They putting in effort to teach, but in turn having to face tantrums and negative attitudes from students?

Do you know they would actually bother whether you are stressed up with certain issues that has been bugging you? They would try to reach out to you and ease your troubles and burdens.

So, if you're guilty of being a 'naughty' student, take this special day to seek forgiveness from your teacher, and show them that you really appreciate what they're doing.

But don't only express your appreciation on teachers day. Do it any other day by just simply praising your teachers. You wouldn't know how happy they would feel when they hear words of encouragement and praises from their students.

I'm sure you guys are anticipating on what's in store for Teachers' Day. Well, it's a surprise!

To Huayians who have contributed ideas to the event, thanks a lot! (:

SHAPES OF HARMONY!

Today 1 council with 2 groups of 16 representatives participated in the 3D Design Structuring "SHAPES OF HARMONY" organized by the south west cdc at west coast park today (:

Congratulations to Youth Rapport and Youth Oracle for coming in champion & 1st runner-up.

We have done the school proud! Let's continue to soar!

It was a really fruitful and fun experience today. We are to build a 3D structure out of recycable materials, it has to represent racial harmony in Singapore!

We enjoyed ourselves and get to eat free candy floss and get free balloons! Haha, that's not the main point. The point here is that, we worked together with a positive attitude overcoming the problems that we face during the structuring process. We manage to solve the problems as a team and earn ourselves glory! Glory in the sense that, we completed the structure regardless of the obstacles that we face. We have all felt a sense of achievement. Most importantly, we would like to thank each other for the encouragement and moral support. HAHA (: and also thank Mr. Lee for being there with us today!

We haven't seen each other for meetings, updates and such for a looong time because mass gathering is strongly discouraged in school. Lol. Why? Thanks to H1N1! Alright huayians, remember to take good care of yourself and stay strong! (: Drink lots of water, take your temperature if you feel unwell and rest enough! (: There are already cases around us, so be AWARE (:

From now on, the SC room would be opened to the student councillors for studying until 6pm. Seniors are warmly invited! :D So do join us in our studying sessions!

Meanwhile, remember about your behaviour in class, discipline during duties and be properly attired at all times.
